Comedy too can sometimes discern what is right. I shall not please, but I shall say what is true.

Couldn't you see this?: "I'm boycotting this movie if it costs Deadpool Ryan Reynolds"

I wasn't sure if you meant the thread itself or a specific comment making fun of the poster. Is it me or is that terrible grammar? I had a bit of hard time with that sentence but then again I'm ESL so it's probably that.

ETA: And yes,t hat's pretty silly. Although I admit I'll be very disappointed if Reynolds gets replaced by another actor.

ESL? ETA?

"if it costs Deadpool Ryan Reynolds"

It sure isn't a good style, but me thinks grammatically it be okay.

Perhaps you would have been happier with the sentence if you had plonked down "whether" instead of "if," though the internet has left me so used to overlooking (and partaking of) loose grammar that I can't even remember whether that's technically necessary.

Most of me doesn't care who plays the lead role, but part of me ardently wants to see the lead role go to somebody else and the movie be great regardless. I'm tired of seeing all these claims that Reynolds is the only person who could possibly play Deadpool. I really don't think Reynolds is the key ingredient for a good Deadpool movie, and I'd like to see that proven by one of the hundreds of undiscovered actors capable of filling the role. Sure it's his pet project, and sure his interest is probably the only reason the powers that be haven't already swept the movie under the carpet (even if he may just be delaying the inevitable), and sure it would be nice for him if this ambition were fulfilled, but it's even nicer to see the outraged clamour of the human chorus proven wrong.

Plus, let's face it, in real life Wade himself would get some perverse satisfaction from seeing a rich and successful prettyboy lose out on something like this. It would be fitting.

Plus, if it were Ryan's "pet" project... you'd think he'd push it a little more than he has.

Looks like we're going to get a porn version of Deadpool before we get a mainstream Deadpool movie. . . Seriously. It's old news released from close to a year ago, but I didn't see anything posted in the forums, so I thought I'd post it in this thread. Hey, technically it is Deadpool movie news!
So, Vivid, the company that produced the porn parodies of Star Wars, The Avengers, and other comic book franchises, is making Wolverine XXX. It has several X-men, but Spider-Man and Deadpool have been thrown into the mix. Why? I dunno; I'm just going to roll with it.
Here's the actor that's been cast:

And a still from the movie:

I'm assuming that it will be released around the same time as The Wolverine. For those who are interested in more info:

http://www.die-screaming.com/more-x-men-and-wolverine-porn-parody-updates/
Both links are somewhat SFW. No nudity or sex scenes, but there's a saucy pic and language.
And please forgive me, Ben, if it was inappropriate to post this news!

Do you really think they'll get a nobody to fill this role? Hollywood is not about talent, especially with their big blockbuster films. It's kinda odd to want the role to go to somebody else just because you want to prove some people wrong. I've read plenty of suggestions as to which actor could play DP and most of them suck. The reason people are so hung up on Ryan playing the role is because we already saw what he can do and we all loved it.

I'm not saying RR is indispensable but it would really annoy me to death if they didn't get the "right" actor for this role. I mean look what Jake Gyllenhaal did for Prince of Persia. He didn't look the part, he didn't act the part, it was horrible, HORRIBLE! Granted there's plenty of more wrong with that movie but the terrible casting made it even worse.

Lol @ Deadpool porn. I might just check that out.
