"I'm a huge fan of the way you turn into a rage monster."

Yeah, I feel the gravitas.

It felt way too small scale. Scarlett Johansson does the same thing all the time and remains an awful casting choice, along with Ruffalo.

Amen to hating ruffallo.

And I never said it was completely serious, I was talking in comparison to the previous marvel flicks.

Captain America: The First Avenger carried way more weight than this looks to be carrying.

I disagree. it's a period piece set within a universe we know the current circumstances of, we have no reason to worry or care at all about whether he wins or not because just by watching iron man, we know he does.

True, because it's still up in the air whether or not The Avengers will win over evil in their first cinematic outing of all time...

If predictability is your issue, then you shouldn't be claiming there's any weight on this movie. We all know, not only how it will end, but likely how the whole movie will play out. Predictability in Marvel movies is something I expect, but don't mind. So long as the movie is well done and enjoyable. So far, they all fulfill that. The Avengers looks way more tongue-in-cheek that it needs to be. Aside from that, I worry about the running time. Anything shorter than two and a half hours is disconcerting.

Honestly, I dunno about this movie. First I was all "Avengers Movie? FUCK YEAH" but then I started hearing some of the dialogue from it (like "You can be sure we'll AVENGE it") and remembered Whedon

She is the worst casting of all, which isn't saying much as they're all pretty good. I just hate that they've reduced her to the eye candy and act like she isn't because she can fight.

Black Widow is sexy, but Scarlet isn't Black Widow.
